weather fronts

there are four kinds of weather fronts. They're very different from each other. The four types of weather fronts are cold fronts, warm fronts, stationary fronts and occluded fronts. First up is the cold fronts, like its name a cold front comes in only except that when it comes in the warm air is pushed up to cause precipitation. Then after that, is a warm front which has the exact opposite of what a cold front does. It comes in a pushes on the cold front to cause weather. Stationary front is when the cold front and warm air front move back and forth like tug-of-war. Last is the occluded front. Its where cool air hit more cool air then warm air on top to create one big cloud.

Itinerary and approximate latitude

Were you successful? not at first but very successful
How many attempts? 5 on each one
What winds did you take advantage of or compete with during your travel? the trade, the horse and the doldrum.
class tried to sail on the computer and we have 15 days to reach your destination. The first one i did was from Los Angles to Australia is very hard to get to get to almost impossible, but after awhile you get the hang of it and get there. then the next one is the Lima, Peru to Cape Town Africa its a lot easier, when you move u get a free push and makes he trip easier after that. The last one It starts from Havana, Cuba to London, England. It's the most simple map ever. I was successful but took a long time to get it right. Took me at least 5 times before i was successful.

ozone

The Ozone is the Stratosphere area of the atmosphere. it takes three oxygen molecules. In a nut shell, its Earths suncreen and ours from UV rays. (ultra violet) If it was in the troposphere(weather part of atmosphere)we would die because of no air and would sufficate. Unfortionatly, the Ozone is very unstable any carbon dioxide can alter it easily with other atoms cause major problems most of these problems are from the oceans and valcanos. All in all, Ozone depletion is a big problem. everything is being effected plants, animals, also humans because the ozone is getting worse that it is getting better and hope we don't lose it forever.

green house effects

A greenhouse effect is heat trapped in the atmosphere by gases that form a blanket around the Earth. Yes we should be concerned about the effects because its partly contributing to global warming which is making climate changes. This means more hurricanes rise in oceans and other castostrophic changes. To change that, people should burn less fossil fuels and coal to stop this from happening.

there are many types of pollution around the world and thats a problem. One type of pollution in the cities its Photochemical smog. the photo in photochemical means "light". This smog is made up of sunlight, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides. when these chemicals react it makes a brownish mix of ozone and other pollutants. The ozone protects us from UV rays. (ultra violet rays) This becomes and can harm living things. for humans it will irritate throat and lungs and animals and plants. However, we are trying to improve air quality around the world making new power plants that run cleaner than older power plants, less polluting cars but the flip side to cars is that there are more running and more fossil fuels burning in cities. Cities are still very polluted and are trying to make that better.

Earth without atmosphere

Earths atmosphere is the thing the planet unique. From outer space the atmosphere is a thick blue layer. It holds in the air so people can breath. the atmosphere gives us wheather.Rain, sunshine, snow or any type of wheater. If we didn't have the atmosphere we would die because of no air and No wheater. These are the reasons if we didnt have an atmosphere.

Q:What is a rocket?
A: A rocket is a machine that is used to go into outer space to explore.

Q: Where and when were rockets first developed?
A:In 1950 and the first Atlas rocket was made in NASA

Q:What purpose was the rocket initially developed?
A:The rocket was used to launched probes and satellites into orbit

Q: What is thrust?
A: Thrust is a force that propels something to move forward.

Q: How do rockets create thrust?
A:when the bottom side of the rocket expels gas in the opposite direction.

Q: How does a multistage rocket works?
A: The first part of the rocket called an Atlas provides enough thrust for launch. Then when the Atlas disengages the second part of the rocket called the Centaur helps the payload get into the atmosphere. The last stage is the payload.this is where the satellite or the probe is at.

Q:What is the difference between multistage rocket compared to a single stage rocket?
A: the difference between gas, because a rocket can only hold so much. As to where a multistage rocket can a certain amount in one part then gas in the next and so on and so forth.

Q:Why can the third stage of the rocket can go faster even though it has less fuel?
A:The reason why is that one,it weights less, two,the third stage of the rocket doesn't need to apply as much thrust as the first part does.

the science of rockets

Since 1950 rockets have helped us explore the moon and other plants. The rocket is in made up of different parts. the first part, is the Atlas it stores fuel for rockets.teh second part is the centaur. it holds the spaceship or satelites.that is the summery of the science of rockets.

Exploring space today

There is a new technology planned for the ISS (international space staion) a "personal satellite assistant. A sphereical robot that floats next to the astronuat using small fans to cahange course or move in varios directions. The assistant will be powered by solar cells to monitor temperature, air equality, and pressure to if there is any enviromenal issues in the station even in remote areas of the station. the assistant has a videophone so astronuats can intercommunicate with each other anywhere around the space station and earth.

Using space science on Earth

For the space program,NASA gets less than 1% of every dollar in the U.S. budget there is much contraversy about the program, instead of using all that money for the space program we should use the money for somthin else like education or medical research. I counter of this,NASA has made a web site of of basic knowledge gives use better explanation of Earth. Many technological breakthroughs from the space program, like the many applications in satellite communications. NASA has supported many jobs also good for the ecomony. Overall, space serves as an inspiration to humans into the unknown to push back boundaries.

The space program

The start of NASA(national aerodautiss and space administration) was started is 1958 to explore space. NASA immediately embarked on project Murcury to see whether humans could live in space. With such seccession with project Murcury lead to project Gemini, whiched involved with two astronauts living in space.NASA learned how to live in space and maneuver spacecraft in flight. After project Gemini quickly fallowed the Apollo missions which even though ended in 1972, it started up again in 1981.

The factors of seasons

I had a question that was based on observations that had to do with seasons. after my observations, I came up with that the amount of sun light and how far away the earth is is the reason the way the season changes.

zoom

Have you ever read a book that you had to make a guess of what was commin next? Well, the other day my class read a book called Zoom and the teacher told us to make an inference.(a guess you make of something based on the data you have)

The book is a right or wrong answer book it could be anything. if the book shows a picture of a boy playing with toys, what are the options? A magizine? A add? Billbourd? It could be anything you can imagine ,that is how unpredicatable this book is.

The book is a major brainteaser.it shows one thing but it isnt what you think it is. if it shows one particular color u'll its this, but actually its that you might think you are wrong, but thats the point of the book to guess not right guess but guesses.

So if you ever want to read a book but look at pictures, read Zoom and get your brain working!

Enigma box

You know that containers hold liquids in certain amounts? well thats the samething as an enigma box. it holds liquids for a certain amount until the liquids come out.

you determine whether the liquids your pouring in are in milliters or liters. pour anything thats liquid it holds before it leaks on the other side. the best way to measure how much to put in each time is by 100 milliters for the best accuracy in notes for an experiment.

how an enigma box works is simple but very complicated. how to make one is simple. get a milk carton.(or a soy or silk carton works to) Then, open the top completely open up.After that cut one hole at the bottom of the carton at the side.finally, stick a straw like a loop -a-loopstick it at one endthen glue the top closed.Thats it you made a enigma box.

Well thats all on the enigma box thanks for reading.
